Duplex steel normally has 22% chromium, 5–6% nickel, and 3% molybdenum and has excellent resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and chloride stress corrosion cracking. Duplex steel also exhibits double the yield strength compared with common austenitic stainless steels.
