Iron and chromium (16–18%) make up the majority of the stainless steel 430 coil/slitting coil, with trace amounts of silicon, carbon, and manganese. Being a ferritic stainless steel, it provides outstanding oxidation resistance up to 815°C and good corrosion resistance in mildly corrosive environments. Mechanically, SS 430 has an elongation of at least 22%, a yield strength of about 205 MPa, and a tensile strength of roughly 450–600 MPa. It is appropriate for a variety of forming and structural applications due to its magnetic properties, good formability, moderate strength, and thermal conductivity.
