Stainless Steel 348H is a stabilization austenitic stainless steel alloy with chromium (17–20%), nickel (9–13%), and niobium (columbium) as stabilizers. It is a high-carbon type of SS 348, which is intended to provide enhanced high-temperature creep and stress rupture properties. SS 348H has superior mechanical properties, such as high tensile and yield strength, good corrosion resistance in oxidizing environments, and high resistance to intergranular corrosion following welding, and thus it is well suited for elevated temperature service.
