Its low carbon content (≤0.04%) helps prevent carbide precipitation during welding, improving weldability. Additional elements include manganese (up to 2%), silicon (≤1%), phosphorus (≤0.045%), and sulfur (≤0.03%). Mechanically, 316H delivers a tensile strength of 515 MPa, yield strength of 205 MPa, and elongation of 40%, along with a hardness of 95 HRB. This combination of strength, durability, and resistance to pitting and stress corrosion makes it ideal for high-temperature, demanding industrial applications.
