Niobium sheets and plates contain ≥99.9% niobium. The metal has a density of 8.57 g/cm³ and a melting point of 2477°C. It has tensile strength between 180–350 MPa (temper dependent) and good formability. Niobium is resistant to numerous acids, such as hydrofluoric acid, and has ductility at cryogenic temperatures. It is non-magnetic, weldable, and has low neutron capture cross-section, making it suitable for nuclear use. The sheets are cold-worked or annealed according to application needs.
