Monel K500 Foils are composed of ~63% nickel, 27–33% copper, and aluminum (2.3–3.15%) and titanium (0.35–0.85%) additions. These additions provide it with higher strength and hardness through precipitation hardening. The tensile strength may go as high as 1100 MPa, with a yield strength of approximately 790 MPa. They retain superb corrosion resistance in marine and acidic environments and are non-magnetic even when aged. Their very good fatigue resistance and outstanding dimensional stability make them best suited for thin-format applications with high stresses where both strength and flex are needed.
