Monel 400 contains approximately 63% nickel and 28–34% copper with trace amounts of iron, manganese, and silicon. It provides tensile strength between 480–620 MPa and yield strength approximately 170–275 MPa. The alloy has good ductility and toughness over a wide temperature range and shows high stress-corrosion cracking resistance. Monel 400 has good workability and thermal conductivity and is simple to weld and shape. The properties are suitable for the high-pressure, corrosive, and temperature-varying environment.
