Inconel 718 is a nickel-chromium alloy with about 50–55% nickel, 17–21% chromium, 4.75–5.5% niobium, and some other elements such as molybdenum, titanium, and aluminum. It possesses high tensile strength (up to 1240 MPa), yield strength (up to 1030 MPa), and fatigue life. Inconel 718 maintains mechanical stability at temperatures up to 700°C and is reputed for good weldability. The alloy also resists stress-corrosion cracking and oxidation and is well-suited for severe-service structural applications in extreme environments.
