In its annealed state, the steel boasts a Brinell hardness of 200–250 BHN, which can rise to as much as 500 BHN after work hardening. It also showcases impressive tensile strength (up to 850 MPa) and elongation (40–50%), along with outstanding resistance to wear and abrasion. Despite its hardness, it can only be machined when in its annealed state and is non-magnetic.
