These plates boast moderate tensile strength ranging from 550–700 MPa, a yield strength of around 280 MPa, along with good ductility and machinability. EN8 steel is well-suited for heat treatment processes like hardening and tempering, which boost its strength and surface hardness. While it may not be the easiest to weld in its untreated state, proper preheating and post-weld treatment can effectively address these challenges.
