Being a ferritic stainless steel, it possesses good mechanical strength and tensile strength around 400–600 MPa. The addition of molybdenum makes it more corrosion resistant in chlorides and reducing acids. The grade has excellent oxidation resistance at high temperatures and has better formability and weldability than other ferritic grades, and hence it can be used as a safe option for heat and corrosion-prone purposes.
