Stainless Steel 321 Sheets and Plates consist of iron with 17–19% chromium, 9–12% nickel, and stabilizing with titanium (≥5 times the carbon content) to avoid carbide precipitation on welding. This austenitic stainless steel is stabilized with titanium and possesses a tensile strength of around 515 MPa along with a yield strength of 205 MPa. It exhibits superior resistance to creep, oxidation, and intergranular corrosion under high temperatures. SS 321 retains its mechanical properties and structural strength in elevated temperature conditions and is, therefore, well suited for welded and pressure-containing structures.
