Vipul Sheets and Plates provides high-quality High-Carbon Steel Plates in Delhi, India, designed for cutting tooling, springs, blades, and high-stress mechanical parts. High-carbon steel has 0.6–1.0% carbon with minor manganese. It provides tensile strengths of 800–1200 MPa and hardness to 60 HRC after quenching. These plates have very good wear resistance and compressive strength but reduced ductility than low-carbon steels. They maintain good fatigue resistance after heat treatment. High carbon steel is hard to weld but is easily machinable and grindable. Proper heat treatment is required to obtain balance between hardness and toughness for particular tool requirements.
