Monel 400 has approximately 63% nickel and 30–34% copper, with traces of iron and manganese. Monel 400 has tensile properties of 550–620 MPa and superior corrosion resistance in seawater, hydrofluoric acid, and alkaline solutions. Monel K500 has the addition of aluminum and titanium, where the strength is increased by age hardening. The alloy has toughness, non-magnetic nature, and maintains mechanical properties over a broad temperature range. It‘s weldable and can be machinable with ease using appropriate tooling, making it ideal for applications involving structures and bearing pressure.
