The Sheets and Plates of Stainless Steel 348H consist of iron with 17–20% chromium and 9–13% nickel content, stabilized by niobium (columbium) and tantalum in order to avoid carbide precipitation when welding. The “H” nomenclature specifies increased carbon content (0.04–0.10%) over typical 348, which further improves creep strength and hot endurance. The sheets have a tensile strength of about 515 MPa, yield strength of 205 MPa, and great resistance to oxidation and thermal fatigue. Stainless Steel 348H is particularly ideal for applications with high temperatures and long-term service conditions.
